2015 Riding and Running into St Columba's History Books

I’ve always loved riding my bike since I was 3. In 2010 at 13yrs of age, a good friend and I did our first Mountain bike race with Western Sydney MTB Club at Yellowmundee and were hooked. Since then I have raced in three National Series, and Australian Championships, Under 17’s in 2013. In U19’s in 2014 I was selected for the Australian Development Squad and raced in 2 MTB World Cup events in Czech Republic and Germany ( finishing 47th ) against 110 other riders. Then in September competed in Hafjell, Norway (73rd) in the World Championships. I was the recipient of a Blues Award with the Parramatta Diocese Outstanding sportspeople recognised in Parramatta diocese for the year. I was also awarded ‘Junior of the Year’ with Western Sydney Mountain Bike Club. During 2015 in U19’s so far are my results below: Subaru MTB Series: Round 1 – Geelong 1st Round 2 - Pemberton 2nd Round 3 - Pemberton 2nd Round 4 -Stromlo 2nd Round 5 - Toowoomba 6th Overall Silver in the National Series Australian Mountain Bike Championships held in Bright Vic – Bronze Presented with the 2015 Inaugural Achievement Award for ‘ Enduro Junior Male’ Selected in the U19 Junior Australian MTB Team to compete in World Championship in Vallnord, Andorra during September, 2015. St Columba’s Cross Country 1st PDSSSC Cross Country – Eastern Creek 2nd I will be running at the next Cross Country event in June. I am also competing in a Junior World Series Round 20 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa on 27th June. Then on 8th August I leave with the Junior Australian Team to France to compete in 2 events before we compete in the World Championships in Andorra on 3rd September, 2015. My wish for the future is to race professionally overseas and eventually represent Australia in the Olympics for mountain biking. I train 10 to 16hrs a week and have the support of my parents, coach and St Columba’s Catholic College.
