Matt Cosgrove
Year 9 students were very lucky to enjoy a visit from author and illustrator Matt Cosgrove today.
Matt shared his books and drawings with the students and explained how he finds his inspiration and ideas.
The students had some very interesting questions for him and hopefully they are now well-equipped to create their own picture books in their English classes this term.

We were delighted to welcome back Class of 2017 graduate, Kiara Ingram-Nader, to the College yesterday. After completing a Bachelor of Forensic Science (Hons) at UTS, Kiara is now working in Forensics with NSW Police. She returned to share insights into her career journey and give students a firsthand look at what a future in Forensic Science could involve. Over 150 students from 13 Catholic, Independent, and Department of Education schools recently converged at St Columba’s Catholic College, Springwood, for an intensive training day for the Greater Sydney Schools Cattle Competition (GSSCC). This unique steer growth and development project empowers students to master essential skills in cattle handling, presentation, and showing within a competitive setting. The comprehensive program covered everything from parading and judging to cutting-edge technology, washing, grooming, feeding, nutrition, and even carcass judging. This vital training will equip participants for the highly anticipated Live Day competition, set to take place on August 9, 2025, at Hawkesbury Showground. #GSSCC

🌏 Our volunteer efforts have gone global! Last weekend, we were thrilled to see our Japanese exchange student, Ryoka, teaming up with regular SCCC volunteers Kayden and Taylah to support the Springwood Lyrebirds All-Ability Football Team. ⚽️ Volunteering is a great way to give back, connect with others, and make a real difference — and we’re so proud of our students for stepping up and getting involved in the community! 💙👏 #SCCCSpirit #VolunteeringMatters

It's so exciting to see our Creative Hub taking shape! When complete, this new addition to the College will provide students with custom-designed spaces for Visual Arts and TAS, as well as flexible classrooms and learning spaces. Filled with natural light and overlooking the beautiful bushland, the Creative Hub will be an inspiring place for students at St Columba's Catholic College to create and learn.
